Travel Experience

The hairpin turns were actually brutal; I had to constantly fight the wheel, seriously concentrating just to keep the car centered. The climb felt relentless, like climbing a gigantic natural ramp. It was totally different from any road I’d driven before.

Driving past the waterfalls was loud—I could feel the mist hitting the sides of the car. The constant spray and the sudden drop-offs were a little overwhelming. It made me realize how focused you really need to be just to navigate this segment of the road.

We actually stopped when the guide said we needed a breather, and it was just standing there, looking down. The sheer steepness makes you feel pretty small. Honestly, getting to the top felt like a huge accomplishment after all that wrangling with the curves.

We spent a really long time in the mountain, moving up and down the grades. I was trying to estimate how long the drive feels compared to the pictures; it was much more physically demanding. It’s definitely a wild scenic drive experience, but you really earn it with the kind of effort it takes.
