Travel Experience
We started a bit later than planned and already the light felt harsh on the road, like it reflected off everything at once. The first section was just cliffs and sea appearing in small gaps between bends.
At one point we stopped because a few cars were already parked on a widened shoulder. People were mostly just standing around looking at the rocks and then quickly getting back in because the road behind us felt too narrow to linger.
There was a long stretch where the road kept hugging the coastline and dropping toward the water in sharp turns. We didn’t talk much, just occasionally pointing out islands that looked closer than they actually were.
We stopped for tea in a small roadside place that felt very quiet for how dramatic the landscape outside was. Nothing special about the stop itself, but it was good to sit in the shade for a bit before continuing.
By the end of the Musandam Coastal Drive, it felt less like separate points of interest and more like one continuous sequence of cliffs and water. The scenery was always there, but we mostly experienced it in short glances between bends rather than long stops.
