Travel Experience

We expected the Giant’s Causeway to be the main highlight, but a surprising amount of the day was spent stopping at places we hadn’t planned to visit at all.

At one small harbor there were a few fishing boats and people sitting on benches looking out at the water. We only intended to stretch our legs, but ended up staying longer than expected.

The road never seemed to stay in one type of landscape for very long. A coastal section would suddenly give way to green hills, and then the ocean would reappear around the next bend.

For a while the weather couldn't decide what it wanted to do. We drove through light rain, then bright sunshine, then mist rolling in from the sea within the same hour.

By the end of the Causeway Coastal Route, I remembered the variety more than any single landmark. The drive felt like a collection of small coastal experiences connected by one road rather than a journey toward a specific destination.
